Which Lounge in LHR / HKG
i will have my first flight with NZ in April (Business Class). I wonder
if someone could recommend a lounge in LHR and HKG.
Thanks for your help!
best regards,

At LHR it really is a choice between the Singapore (SQ) lounge or the TG/Air Canada/ Scandinavian "London lounge". The SQlounge is typically more intimate and has far better food/drink selection than the London lounge, but the London lounge has more room (and massage chairs). Be wary neither the SQ nor the "London lounge" have announcements for NZ flights, but they are both better than the UA RCC lounge.
For LAX, it is the NZ lounge at Terminal 2, which is far better than the Air Canada lounge. If in transit on NZ1/NZ2 in business class you can go through the hassle of going landside to access it (immigration, customs, security), although it is an excellent lounge - this typically can add anything between 15m-1hr to your transit time just GETTING to the lounge.
In HKG take the Thai lounge as this is closest to the gate. Don't forget to get the transfer card at the airbridge as security will turn you away without it (since boarding pass just says destination Auckland with departure date the previous day).
TG lounge in HKG is superior to UA.
In LHR T3 I would go to SQ for food, but SK for ambience
At TG unless you want to shove aside one of the computers ; you are relegated to the open lounge.
Agree about the lounge. But 15 minutes to clear immigration and security is very optimistic. I expect an hour and it often takes close to 2 hours (ie by the time you get through you have to go straight onto the aircraft). Some time is shaved off if you are a US resident.
I disagree. I often fly HKG-LHR with NZ, departing 8.45 in the morning. UA lounge offers croissants, cerials and a few other things, while TG offers a wider choice of fried noodles, fresh fruits and much more yummi stuff (in addition to what UA lounge offers)! ^
