NEW Fall AP Bonus promo

  • Ok, I have a crapload of flying in the next two months and was starting to think what kind of bonus AP miles could I get and came across this (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21707&highlight=promo+bonus) old thread.

What the hell? I click on the link to the last year's Fall promo and BAM!

Here's the new Fall Bonus promo :

Fly North America and earn up to 75% more Aeroplan Miles

Above and beyond everyday, low one-way fares, Air Canada now offers you Bonus Aeroplan Miles with your next flight to most destinations in North America.

From September 13 to December 15, 2004, earn up to 75% more Aeroplan Miles on scheduled flights operated by Air Canada and Air Canada JazzTM* as well as Air Canada 4-digit flights operated by Air Georgian Limited (doing business as Air Alliance®), Central Mountain Air and Air Labrador—in the eligible fares listed below—within Canada or between Canada and the Continental U.S.A. (including Alaska):

Eligible Fare Booking Class† Bonus Aeroplan Miles

    Executive Class® J, C 75%

    Freedom Y 50%

    Latitude M, U, A 50%

    Fun R, I, G 25%

Also eligible for Bonus Aeroplan Miles are scheduled flights operated by United and United Express between Canada and the Continental U.S.A.:

    Booking Class† Bonus Aeroplan Miles

    F, A 75%

    Y, B, E, U 50%

    M, H, Q 25%

There's also a double miles promo for flying full J internationally but most of my flying is domestic and trans-border. I also wished they started this earlier. :(

For full details, check out the link (https://www.aeroplan.com/en/offers/promotion_aug122004.jsp).

    Enjoy!

  • Well yeah... but international is for those who fly J. Who the hell flies full J these days (besides shore9)? Ok, never mind. Don't answer that question.

Parnel, stop trying to look cute -- take that make-up and pretty little dress off. :D

  • Read the whole promo thing... there are effectively two of them;one for NA and one for international and I think you need to register for each. It was a cute way of asking a dumb question though :D

How do you register for the International one? I did the one from the link above, but think it is the NA one.

  • If you do follow the link with this thread then you get a sign up page which doesn't let you sign up. It's all a mystery to me...anyone else?

I was able to sign up online and via phone (automated, BTW) without any problems.

Yes, you only sign up ONCE and you're registered for both. If you do the phone-in registration, it addresses both promos by the over-arching name.

  • Sucks that this promo doesn't cover international travel.

I had not noticed that limitation. :(

  • Aeroplan website is down for a few hours for maintenance

  • Ok point guru's, as the promo un-fairly discriminates against international non-J flyers( sorry my parents aren't like shore9's) , what kind of points might I expect from a NRT-YWG in "B" class? I naturally will use an upgrade cert (SWU). Let's say I get upgraded, what likely amount of miles would I recieve?

  • Hope its a colour laser one :D
Of course , I got it cheaper via the net! It was a little baffling to hook-up at first though as I didn't read the info and bunked the first installation.

  • I'm in. They ask you to print page as proof of registration.
Thanks for the lead in,airbus320. ^

  • Hmmm ... dress? Hmmm Parnel was not in Athens today was he -- jumping into pools? :D

    PB

I don't wear tutu's I 'll have you know.........this kid was a Canuck but studying in BRU :D

  • That's nice. ^
But I am only flying in L on AC and V on UA this fall. Not bonus for me:mad:

  • Actually, one thing I'm not sure about.

When you fly Y or C, you get the 25% CoS bonus. However, with this promo running, does it displace the CoS bonus or is the 75% calculated on base miles?

I'll find out after my trip during the week of Sept 13. ;)

  • Thank you ex AC , it seems that the old link had timed out, but a320's worked out fine :) . Oh, and I printed 3 copies (using my new Canon Printer, Parnel) , just in case of a foul-up ;) !

Hope its a colour laser one :D

So if you're on a C between YVR & YYZ, it'll be 2078 Q miles + 520 Q miles (COS) + 1559 bonus miles = 4178 total miles earned each way.To think if these would have been status that they almost had a way to "unofficially" comp people status for next year instead of lowering the levels at year end...But nothing will stop them from mailing targetted people telling them that the bonus they earn oin this promo will be Q miles. ;)

  • I signed up from a320's link a few hours ago (I could not remember if I had done so before).

Sorry Q, I am in Edmonton and listed with AP as such.

  • You need to register for this promotion.

  • I signed up twice. Once for NA and once for Europe.

  • Problem fixed !

  • YVR-YWG portion would be 1162 base Q miles + 291 COS Q miles + 872 bonus 75% miles for C class = 2325 total miles earned. So one actually earns double miles when including the 25% COS bonus.
Wow, great, thanks Empress :) , it will make going to YWG in November that much (umm) warmer ;)!

  • They'll just be regular miles. If they were status it would be indicated in the promo.

  • What I find is that the only way to access the proper page for this mysterious promotion is via this thread. There is no link on the Aeroplan site  . If you do follow the link with this thread then you get a sign up page which doesn't let you sign up. It's all a mystery to me...anyone else?

    Thanks ^

  • It appears that they are the same thing.

  • its ashame it doesn't include the econo fares, I could earn another 1716 miles for this falls travels, as flights are now back to L fares pour moi.

  • Rcvd my August paper statement today ... in there a "New Fall offers" flyer documenting the promos we have been discussing in this thread and also providing the phone numbers and urls. Still nothing directly at the web site, so maybe the internet team is busy doing other things :D

URL documented there to take you directly to the sign-up page is:

  • I signed up via the link posted in this thread. I could not find mention of this promotion anywhere on Aeroplan's web site or in any e-mails sent to me.

  • I signed up from a320's link a few hours ago (I could not remember if I had done so before).

Sorry Q, I am in Edmonton and listed with AP as such.

  • Hmmm, you sure it wasn't Brugge? Could've been YOWkid as I hear he'd jump at anything. :D

At least I don't jump at everything. :D

  • Problem taken care of !

    Okay I will try and answer my own question;

    NRT-YVR 4674 SM
    YVR-YWG 1162 SM (B class is 50% so 581 SM)

I will use an upgrade cert so will I get the 1162+290 (COS) + this bonus promo at 50% or 75%(bonus miles) for the domestic portion even though it is B?

  • I don't wear tutu's I 'll have you know.........this kid was a Canuck but studying in BRU :D

If AC/AP mails this to those targetted then it's in writing and they will be in breach if the miles are not posted as Q miles. :D

  • To think if these would have been status that they almost had a way to "unofficially" comp people status for next year instead of lowering the levels at year end...

  • Are these bonus status miles or just bonus miles? I wasn't able to use to link to see.

  • Perhaps it's time for a US address for a little while (like mtacchi's NW upgrade) for this promo...Delhi anyone?

(I just saw this one. sorry if it's a dupe.)

  • Aeroplan website is down for a few hours for maintenance

    It's back up.

  • So If someone were to fly RT to Paris between Sept.13 and Sept.30 they would get the Paris bonus of 10k plus the promotion bonus of 75% so one could conceivably get over 23K miles for a J booking trip in that period.

Pretty good deal I'd say if someone is going there on Paid J.!!
