I hardly ever rent cars, and Alamo seems cheapest whenever one compares, so hey, that is fine with me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

This rental came in at $71.98 in Florida for compact, from Thurs am to Wed pm drop off. (Is that 6 days or 7 days using 'rental speak'?!)

Used the NW or CO coupons and codes, but it seemed real cheap to me all the same. Is that usual on the SW website? Odd it was a lot cheaper than using same codes with Alamo direct is my point.

  • It seems to be about the going rate right now. I booked a mid-size with one free day and "casino" discount (34%) in MCO for 5 weekdays (Monday-Saturday) in November yesterday. Total cost including taxes, fees, recoupment and other nonsense was $86+change. Don't forget it is low season in Florida through roughly 12/15 and they are happy to rent to us. The scarcity of vacation travelers right now is also a significant contributor. You can expect that if things get better the price will go back up to $119-$149/wk + all the taxes.

BTW booking was done by phone with Alamo representative
